Karen Turbidy

Karen Turbidy practiced law for more than six years prior to becoming a recruiter. She practiced with the Houston office of the international law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld for four years and later became one of the first attorneys to join Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in opening their Dallas office. Karen was a Managing Director of the Houston office of a major national legal recruiting firm prior to co-founding PTO Legal Search with David.

Since becoming a legal recruiter, Karen has successfully placed a broad range of candidates in both prestigious law firms and exciting in-house positions. Karen has conducted searches for a variety of clients ranging in size from small companies to Fortune 100 companies. Her substantial hands-on experience as a practicing attorney provides Karen with invaluable insights into assessing candidate and client needs and interests, thereby maximizing the likelihood of a good match.

Karen is a 1992 Honors graduate of the University of Texas and a 1995 Honors graduate of the University of Houston Law Center. During law school, Karen served as the Marketing Editor for the University of Houston Law Review.
